Why it matters

Billing shouldn't live in a different tool from the booking

Invoicing outside the CRM

  • Retyping traveller and trip details into a billing app
  • Invoices that don't match what was quoted
  • Payments tracked on WhatsApp screenshots
  • No single view of what's billed, paid and due

Invoicing in TripClap CRM

  • Invoice created from the lead that has all the details
  • Voucher and invoice issued together
  • Razorpay and Cashfree payment links on the same record
  • Payment ledger showing received and due

How it works

From confirmed booking to GST invoice

  1. Step 1

    Confirm the booking

The traveller accepts your quote. Everything about the trip is already on the lead.

  2. Step 2

    Issue voucher and invoice

Create the booking voucher and an invoice showing your company GSTIN.

  3. Step 3

    Collect payment

Send a Razorpay or Cashfree payment link, or set an instalment schedule on Enterprise Elite.

  4. Step 4

    Track in the ledger

Every payment received and due appears in the payment ledger and payment reports.

GST invoices for travel agencies: what to know

Under GST, a registered travel agency or tour operator must issue a tax invoice for its services. The exact tax rate depends on what you sell and how you bill it, so confirm your treatment with your chartered accountant.

What a GST tax invoice must show

  • Your name, address and GSTIN
  • A unique invoice number and the invoice date
  • The customer's name and address, and their GSTIN if they're a registered business
  • Place of supply
  • A description of the service and its SAC code (tour operator services fall under SAC 9985)
  • Taxable value, GST rate and tax amount, split into CGST and SGST or IGST
  • Total invoice value

Common GST situations for travel businesses

  • Tour packages: tour operator services commonly attract 5% GST without input tax credit, or 18% with input tax credit, depending on how you bill.
  • Pure agent and commission models: if you act only as an agent, GST may apply to your commission or service fee rather than the full trip value.
  • Outbound tours: overseas tour packages sold to Indian travellers also attract TCS under income tax rules, which is separate from GST.

Why invoice from your CRM

When the invoice comes from the same lead as the quote and voucher, the details match, nothing is retyped, and your payment ledger stays accurate.

Can TripClap CRM create GST invoices?

Yes. On Pro Plus and Enterprise Elite you can create invoices that show your company's GSTIN, along with booking vouchers for every lead.

Which plan includes GST invoices?

Invoices are on Pro Plus and Enterprise Elite. The free trial runs on Enterprise Elite, so you can try invoicing free for 7 days.

What GST rate applies to tour packages?

Tour operator services commonly attract 5% GST without input tax credit, or 18% with input tax credit. The right rate depends on how you bill, so confirm it with your chartered accountant.

Can I send a payment link with the invoice?

Yes. Send Razorpay or Cashfree payment links from the same lead, and track what's received and due in the payment ledger.

Can I collect payment in instalments?

Yes. Enterprise Elite lets you set instalment payment schedules for each booking.

Do I still need separate accounting software?

Yes. TripClap CRM is not accounting software. It handles invoices, vouchers, payment links and the payment ledger for your bookings, but your books of accounts and GST returns stay in your accounting software. On Enterprise Elite you can send data onwards with n8n or Zapier.
